Dosage
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Read package insert prior to use.
Insertion
Wash the applicator in a non-irritating antiseptic solution, then dip the front portion of the applicator into veterinary obstetrical lubricant.- Place the insert into the applicator so that the wings are folded and only the tips of the wings protrude from the front of the applicator.
- Dip the front portion of the applicator into veterinary obstetrical lubricant.
- Lift the tail of the animal and wipe clean the lips of the vulva with a disposable tissue.
- With the animal’s tail lifted, insert the loaded applicator, sloping it slightly upwards, through the vulva and then forward, without forcing, into the forward portion of the vagina.
- Grasp the finger holds of the applicator to expel the insert and remove the applicator.
- With the insert correctly placed, with the wings open in the anterior portion of the vagina, the tail of the insert should be visible protruding from the vulva.
Removal
Withdraw by gently, but firmly, pulling on the protruding tail of the insert.

Frills:
The silicone matrix, or “frills”, which house the progesterone, protrudes out from the spine of the device created a double-sided contact with the vaginal mucosa. These “frills” extend the surface area of contact between the mucosa and the progesterone meaning less progesterone is required in the device.
Material:
The material of the spine used in Ulti-Mate is polyketone rather than nylon. Polyketone has advantages in its flex characteristics and does not need to be annealed (use of heat to set the physical characteristics, followed by cooling in water), a significant advantage during manufacturing.
T-Shape:
The T-shaped design is easy to insert and remove and maintains retention which was proven unbeatable in our large scale field study.1
Thin Silicone:
The “frill” on the Ulti-Mate is less than 1mm thick, and due to the double sided contact with the mucosa, the progesterone has less distance to travel to the surface of the silicone/progesterone matrix.
