DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Read package insert prior to use.
Wear protective gloves when handling the Ulti-Mate devices.
Insertion:
- Dip the Ulti-Mate device applicator in a non-irritating antiseptic solution.
- Place one Ulti-Mate device into the applicator so the wings are folded and only the tips of these wings protrude from the front of the applicator.
- Dip the front portion of the loaded applicator into a suitable veterinary obstetrical lubricant.
- Lift the tail of the animal and wipe the vulva lips clean with disposable tissue.
- With the tail lifted, insert the loaded applicator, sloping slightly upwards, through the vulva and then forward, without forcing, into the forward portion of the vagina.
- Release the device, grasp the handle of the plunger and ease back the barrel of the applicator towards the handle.
- With the Ulti-Mate device correctly placed with the wings opened in the front portion of the vagina, only the removal tail should be visible from the vulva.
- Repeat step 1 before re-using the applicator. This Ulti-Mate device is not licensed for reuse.
Removal:
- Withdraw each Ulti-Mate device by pulling on the nylon removal tail.
- Always remove at least 24 hours before slaughter.
Why choose Ulti-Mate?
Frills:
The silicone matrix or frills, which house the progesterone, protrudes out from the spine of the device creating double-sided contact with the vaginal mucosa. These "frills" extend the surface area of contact with the mucosa meaning less progesterone is required in the device.
Material:
The material of the spine used in Ulti-Mate is polyketone rather than nylon. Polyketone has advantages in its flex characteristics and does not need to be annealed (use of heat to set the physical characteristics, followed by cooling in water), a significant advantage during the manufacturing.
T-Shape:
The T-shaped design is easy to insert and remove while ensuring reliable retention, with performance confirmed in our large-scale field study.
Thin Silicone:
The "frill" on the Ulti-Mate is less than 1mm thick, and due to the double-sided contact with the mucosa, the progesterone has less distance to travel to the surface of the silicone/progesterone matrix.
Backed by science, proven in the field
Large field study in Australia confirms the Ulti-Mate device delivers conception and retention rates non-inferior to Eazi-Breed CIDR1 .
